How do you stay organized?
Submitted by devillibrarian.
Yay, I love answering QotDs by people I know. :)
The biggest thing that has helped me is doing an overall decluttering of my apartment. Then I find a place for everything, and attempt to keep it there.
Sometimes things get shifted around and rearranged, but for the most part, I think I've done a good job with the space that I've got.
How do you feel about your birthday? Do you look forward to it and remind all your friends, or do you dread it and try to keep it a secret?
I love my birthday! I tell everyone and remind my friends about it. Usually I don't do much more than a dinner or two (unless it's a super special birthday!), and eat cake, but I do like to celebrate. :)
p.s. It's September 27. :)
Where do you consider home? Is it the place you grew up; the place you're currently living? Why is it home?
Submitted by uncagedbird.
This is a loaded question for me, but since I've met the person asking the question, I should answer it. :)
Knoxville is the closest thing to home that I have right now. I've got my little world here. But do I want to be here forever? I don't know.
What are three things you want to learn, and three things you can teach others to do?
Submitted by bookishbiker.
Yay bookishbiker for getting a QotD!!! (she & I have matching sushi socks!)
I want to learn...
1. How to be a better decorator, instead of just having a mish-mash of things that don't really go together
2. How to knit a sweater
3. How to sew using a sewing machine
I can teach people...
1. To use various databases
2. To make deviled eggs
3. To bake bread
What do you absolutely refuse to eat?
This could take awhile...
Onions, peppers, pickles, raw tomatoes, octopus, organs (liver, brains, kidneys, etc.).
I think those are the worst offenders.
What other names did your parents consider for you?
I don't know for sure. I *think* I was going to be Jonathan if I was a boy, but I'm not 100% sure of that. Need to remember to ask my mom about this...
What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Oh dear. That changes all the time. I suppose my all time favorite is chocolate/vanilla swirl (soft-serve). I also love really good strawberry ice cream. And I can't forget Mayfield's Moose Tracks. Sigh. Too many flavors!
What's a saying or phrase that's never made sense to you?
"The world is your oyster."
I know what people mean when they say this, but why an oyster?
Have you ever tracked down any of your old high school friends and fellow students?
Submitted by campsite2007.
I've looked for a few of them, but haven't contacted any of them. I'm still friends with two people from high school, and really, that's enough. :)
What's the infamous story people tell about you?
Submitted by Cherney.
It all depends on who you ask. I don't think I'll be able to list everything here, but here are a few that come to mind:
* The time when a seagull swiped my fry at Pike Place Market in Seattle while eating fish and chips.
* The time Mike (he was a big golden retriever) pulled me off my grandmother's couch.
* The many antics in New Orleans (over the course of a few years) and in Oxford.
* The time when my little sis branded me with the nickname "Goat Links."
I know there are more, but I really don't want to call my parents and best friends to find out what stories they tell about me.
