I should be in bed, but wanted to take a second to update everyone on today...
Lily Belle has died. :( There is only one kitten left in the litter of four. According to the vet, it's some sort of parasite infection (I'm not sure what...).
My grandmother is still holding on, but her blood pressure has dropped quite a bit today.
I'm about to go to bed and sob a bit more about my kitten.
Here are some fun pictures. I definitely need the fun pics this week...
Daisy, after going to the vet on December 22. They put a pink bandana on her!
Sandy on Christmas Eve...she loved being around so many people. I'll be seeing her again tomorrow, and hope to get a better picture (she's about 70 pounds now!).
And finally, Lily Belle! I met her for the first time today. She is definitely my kitten. :)
The kittens will be 4 weeks old tomorrow! But before I show you their 3-week pictures, I have some sad news to share. I learned this morning that one of them died yesterday. :( They don't know what happened...it just died. Now they're keeping an eye on the rest of them in case it was something infectious. Hopefully not.
Now, pictures of the babies at 3 weeks old. My source wasn't sure which of these died. I'll be meeting them on Thursday, December 27, and will have more info then. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures! They're so cute...up and exploring with their eyes wide open:
I'm off to Columbus, OH tomorrow for a fun weekend! I was invited to Food/Crafts/Books Girl's annual Holiday Open House. I imagine she'll post about it at some point, as she's making a lot of food!
I'm so excited about seeing her again and a few more of my friends. Yes, there will be pictures.
Speaking of pictures, here are some new ones of the kittens. They were actually taken last weekend when they were 8 days old. I should be getting more pics on Monday...hopefully with their little eyes open!
I know you've been waiting for these! Aren't they just adorable?!? I'm not sure which one will be mine yet, but I'll get to visit them during Christmas break (and bring her home January 26). As of now, I'm thinking of naming her Lily Belle, but I'm not locking that in until I meet her and see her personality.
Behold a video clip from Puppy Bowl last year (Animal Planet's answer to the Super Bowl). Actually, this is from the Kitten Halftime Show.
Be warned that if it is possible to die from too much cute, this video may push some of us over the edge. I, for one, was squealing uncontrollably at this video of kittens playing and, well, being kittens!

I just wish I had Animal Planet so that I could see the Kitten Halftime Show on Sunday. Alas, I'll have to wait for it to be available online!
My Alice in Wonderland sheets have arrived! Yay! I'll be taking them with me to the laundromat tomorrow to wash before putting them on my bed. They look slightly different than I thought...they have a pale green background. Very pretty.
Daisy got a good grooming tonight. She didn't like getting her claws trimmed, but we got the job done. And I brushed enough fur off her to make a little Daisy kitten. Heh.
Speaking of kittens, I'm so thrilled that LibraryKat is going to be getting a kitten or two soon! I wuv seeing pictures of the wittle bitties! Squeeeee!
Ahem.
I'm going to be helping out with a Sunday School class tomorrow of 3-5 year olds. I think there are only two children enrolled in this class, so it shouldn't be too crazy. I hope I can go next week, too, after my marathon trip to Atlanta on Saturday (more on that in a minute). I'll be running the class on October 29, so I'll need as much practice as possible. Will be out of town on the 22nd (Hershey!!!), so not much time to prep.
I'm going to the annual meeting of the Southern Chapter of MLA next weekend. More specifically, I'm going for Saturday only. My day starts with a committee meeting at 7:00 a.m. Did I mention that the meeting is in Atlanta, 3+ hours from here? I should be done for the day (committee meeting, judging research posters, moderating a paper presentation session, etc.) by 4:30 p.m., thank goodness. I'll be driving back home and crashing!
Is that enough of an update? I really don't want to even think about college football after the LSU and Auburn losses today. Tennessee is still behind as I'm writing this, but there is still lots of hope for them to pull off a win. Well, now I just thought about college football...
Oh! This is exciting! I'm done with all of my thank-you notes for birthday gifts. :) And I'm making big time progress on my crochet projects for Christmas. I'll post pictures of them here eventually, probably after the holidays, since I don't want anyone to happen to see their present early!
