I now have a shiny new *pink* iPod nano! I love it.
What are y'all listening to these days? What do I need to check out?
I'm currently in Christmas baking mode. I've been baking mini-loaves of banana, zucchini, friendship, and pumpkin breads. Whew. My freezer is full of carbs to be given away! They're being given out locally & through the mail. Some regular readers of this blog will be getting some, whether they know it or not!
I chose quickbreads this year because while I like them, they aren't tempting to me the way yeast breads are. I still salivate when thinking of yeast breads. Best to stay away for now. I'm considering making some fudge, too, but that might have to be put off until another year as well. As it is, it really feels like the Christmas season to have so many wonderful aromas in my apartment. I'm currently immersed in pumpkin. :)
Quick poll: Which iPod nano color should I choose when I buy myself one for Christmas?
* Last night my iPod died. It's a pink mini that I bought in May 2005, just before going to San Antonio for MLA. When I turned it on I just got the sad iPod face. Very sad, indeed.
* If I get some Christmas money this year, I think I'll buy an iPod shuffle. I primarily used Pretty Pink iPod for working out (and some during travel) so the shuffle should work fine for me.
* I think Wednesdays will be my download-pics-and-blog-about-them day. I let pictures just sit on the digital camera for too long. I've been thinking about (and actually *writing down*) some daily schedule stuff for myself in an attempt to be better organized with my time and complete various projects.
* My sourdough starter seems to be losing some umph. Anyone with sourdough bread experience, I may need your help in the near future. I have a couple of ideas that I'm going to try this weekend first.
* I'm really looking forward to seeing a few out-of-town friends in December. Yay holiday parties!
* I'm hungry. It must be time for my apple & string cheese snack. :)
Yes, I missed my iPod this weekend when driving to and from Atlanta. I spent a good part of the trip down talking on the phone to Ilana and to FantasyLibrarian, so I didn't pay much attention to the music. However, on the trip home, I wasn't in the mood for a particular CD, so I just scanned radio stations.
A couple of observations:
1. I heard the song "Chasing Cars" for the very first time on Saturday night. It made me cry. And now I have it loaded on my iPod so I can cry whenever I want.
2. I think the most played song on the radio right now (at least on stations between Atlanta and Knoxville) is the Evanescence song "Call Me When You're Sober." I had only heard that song a couple of times before this trip, and I don't know how many times I heard it Saturday night. Let's put it this way, I can now sing along with the entire song. I need to get that CD...I love their first one.
In conclusion, my iPod will be charged up and ready for the road trip later this week with fauxmiddlechild. But occasionally it's fun scanning stations and hearing songs that I haven't heard before or haven't heard in years.
